Instructor Eddie Tomaine
Instructor Eddie Tomaine is currently head of the Georgia branch of the
Jow Ga Shaolin Institute.
Low See(Instructor) Tomaine, as he is known to his students, began his martial arts
training in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1995. He trained in three martial arts styles:
Chang Chuan- A Northern system of kung fu;
a Southern system which is a rare village style of Hung Gar;
and Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. He studied these styles diligently for the next 4 years
until the closing of the school. In order to pursue a career in electronics, he joined
the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Satellite Systems Technician until 2004.
Throughout this time, he continued his martial arts through self study while
searching for a traditional school. In October of 2003, he found what he had
been looking for and joined the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute in Herndon, Virginia.
Under the tutelage of Sifu Hon Lee and
Sifu Reza Momenan, he began studying
Jow Ga Kung Fu and Shaolin Mizong,
Yang style Tai Chi Chuan and traditional Chinese Lion Dance.
Over the next several years, Low See Tomaine played an integral role
in the Institute's lion dance and demonstration team performances and served
as coordinator for many of the schools various events in the Washington D.C.
area.
In 2007, Low See Tomaine accepted a position as a Satellite Technician at Ramstein
AFB, Germany. Before leaving America, he was encouraged by his teachers to open
a German branch
of the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute in order to promote Chinese Martial arts in Europe.
He had the opportunity to travel to China with the school where he
performed for many of the renowned masters of Jow Ga, including
Jow Ga Grand Master Chan Man Cheung. He also had the privilege
to meet and learn from his Sifus' Mizong teacher, Grand Master Lu Jun Hai
of London. Low See Tomaine moved to Sugar Hill, Georgia
in August 2010 and is currently accepting students.
He considers this a great opportunity to share his love of martial arts and hopes
to foster an appreciation of this art form to his students.
