Sifu Hon Lee – Sifu Hon Lee is the Honorary Advisor of the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute. He has spent more than 40 years studying, researching and teaching a variety of traditional Asian martial arts. He initially learned Jow Ga Kung Fu in Washington, D.C. under the tutelage of Master Dean Chin and Sifu Hoy K. Lee. He is a certified instructor for Chan Man Cheung’s Chinese Boxing Association. He also had the rare privilege of learning the Shaolin Mizong system, as well as Qingping Sword from Lu Jun Hai, Grandmaster of the Mizong system. During Sifu Lee’s lifetime of training, he attained a high level of skill in several other styles, including a black belt from the Shotokan Karate Headquarters in Tokyo. He also studied the Cha style under Master Chen Enyi, a disciple of the late Cha Grandmaster Ma Jinbiao. Cha is the Muslim system of Kung Fu. Sifu Lee also practices Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Sifu John Chin – A key member of the Institute is Sifu John Chin. Sifu Chin has studied and taught Jow Ga Kung Fu for over 30 years, specializing in double broadswords, Kwan Do and the nine section steel whip. He originally studied under Master Dean Chin in Washington, D.C.’s Chinatown. While training in Chinatown, Sifu Chin also participated in numerous tournaments, winning over 95 % of them. Many of the students Sifu Chin taught and trained with during those years are today prominent members of the Jow Ga community. In 1994, Sifu Chin began his study of the Korean martial art of Tae Kwan Do earning a second-degree Black Belt. In 2000, after discovering that Sifu Reza Momenan and Sifu Hon Lee were teaching Kung Fu in Northern Virginia, Sifu Chin renewed his study of Jow Ga Kung Fu. Sifu John, as he is known to his students, was teaching Kung Fu classes for over 10 years at what was the Institute’s Centreville Branch and continues to study under Sifu Reza Momenan. In the words of Sifu Momenan, “Sifu John Chin is one of the most dedicated and loyal individuals to the martial arts in general and Jow Ga in particular.”

Sifu Mike Kerich – Started his martial arts training with Sifu Momenan in Jow Ga Kung Fu in 1997, Yang Style Tai Chi in 2002, and in Shaolin Mizong in 2005. He has been trained by both Sifu Momenan and Sifu Lee. He has been assisting or teaching kung fu classes since 1999. He was formally promoted to Assistant Instructor in May 2001 and eventually to Instructor Level in March 2012. In December of 2017, after over 20 years of dedication Sifu Kerich became a disciple of Master Momenan and therefore a 5th Generation Jow Ga and 8th Generation Shaolin Mizong lineage holder.

Sifu Mehran Ebrahimi – Started his Kung Fu training in Jow Ga system at Spring Hill Recreation Center in April 2000. After 2 years he started Tai Chi and Shaolin Mizong Training. He started assisting and teaching in 2002. He has been a regular competitor in great number of tournaments and has achieved top national rankings. He was formally promoted to Assistant Instructor in 2005 and eventually to Instructor Level in 2012. In December of 2017, after nearly 20 years of dedication Sifu Ebrahimi became a disciple of Master Momenan and therefore a 5th Generation Jow Ga and 8th Generation Shaolin Mizong lineage holder.(Return to Top)
Sifu Allie Shaw – Started her Kung Fu training in April 2000 at Spring Hill Recreation Center. Under the guidance of both Sifu Hon Lee and Sifu Reza Momenan she started in the Jow Ga system and later added the Shaolin Mizong system to her studies. Having prior training in Tai Chi, she quickly became one of the advanced students. One of the first members of the Institute’s demo team, she continues to participate in many lion and dragon dance events. A regular competitor in tournaments, she has achieved top national rankings. She was formally promoted to Assistant Instructor in 2005 and to Instructor Level in 2013. In December of 2017, after nearly 20 years of dedication, Sifu Shaw became a disciple of Master Momenan and therefore a 5th Generation Jow Ga and 8th Generation Shaolin Mizong lineage holder.(Return to Top)
Sifu Kiyoshi Yamamoto – Started his Kung Fu training in both Jow Ga and Shaolin Mizong in January 2003. Under the guidance of both Sifu Lee and Sifu Momenan, he added Yang Style Tai Chi to his training three years later. He has been very active in Kung Fu Demonstrations and Lion/Dragon Dance Events performed by the Institute throughout the years. In December 2008, he was formally promoted to an Assistant Instructor and then became Instructor Level in March 2012. In December of 2017, after nearly 15 years of dedication Sifu Yamamoto became a disciple of Master Momenan and therefore a 5th Generation Jow Ga and 8th Generation Shaolin Mizong lineage holder.(Return to Top)
Instructor Level I, Danielle Lautenslager – Started her martial arts training in 1998 with Sifu Reza Momenan.
She received instructions in Tai Chi and Jow Ga Kung Fu. She has been assisting and teaching both since 2001. Later she also
became familiar with the Shaolin Mizong System, studying with Sifu Reza and Sifu Hon Lee. She has been a member of the school’s
demo team from the start and participated in many lion and dragon dance events. She formally became an Instructor with the

Instructor Level I, Tzachi Lozano – Started his training in both Jow Ga and Shaolin Mizong Kung Fu in 2005. Later in 2007 began his training in Yang style Tai Chi. He trained under the guidance of Sifu Momenan, Sifu Lee, and Sifu Chin. Over the years he has been a prominent part of the Demonstration team, and became the coach of the Dragon Dance team. In 2012, he created and conducted his own class incorporating the
foundational skill building of Kung Fu and cross fit training. In August 2015, his tenth year, he was award instructor level 1.
